I would like for my computer to be able to recognise a block of chinese text I have scanned in. My scanning program only has OCR for English, Spanish and French.
Does anyone know of software which can recognise Chinese?
Thanks

Seconded. I use the IRISLink OCR Pen for reading Chinese on a regular basis, and it’s a reliable product. Not cheap, but it does work as advertised.
Hmm… They are a little too expensive for me. robcaro, the link is for an add-on, so I’d have to buy the original product first. Do you know if there is an add on for Microsoft Document Imaging? That’s what I’m using at the moment for OCR-ing English.
Thanks!
And Rjung, is the pen fast? It looks like something I’ll be getting when I move to China!
Yes, you would need to have the Readiris Pro before you get the Asian Add on. And, yes, it is expensive but worth it. Sorry, but I don’t know about an add on for MS Document Imaging.
Again, to parrot robcaro – expensive, but worth it.
The pen is very fast; I’ve never had a problem using it, aside from whatever shakiness I induce from swiping it over uneven surfaces (such as a book page near the spine).
