Why are companies so easer for you to order with a credit card that they will give you special bonuses if you do? The ad I just saw was for a porno video, and if you order with a credit card, they’ll send you another video free. They only thing I can think of is that they’re stealing your info to commit fraud, but I don’t think they’d get away with that. Any other ideas? Or facts? I like facts.
They’re very eager to sell their product, and want to do it in the easiest way possible. Credit card orders are MUCH easier for merchants to process- pop in a few numbers and hit a button and it’s automatic. On the other hand, if the merchant has to wait to recieve a check from you, they need to hire more staff to process your order, clear it through your bank, and all that jazz.
Credit card orders are just much easier for merchants to use in transactions, especially over the phone. The less they have to do that sells their product, the better- even if it means giving away another “free video”.
Read the microprint as well , a couple of aquantances ordered something off an online store but it had a microsoft style terms and conditions and with credit card details put in they recieved a video every month (the first one was pretty cheap the following ones were 3 times more expensive)
Don’t forget how much time and money these guys lose in returned checks and such. Credit cards have no such dangers.
