O'Reilly vs Wallace: 60 Minutes Ultimate Smackdown

In this interview with journalist Wallace, O’Riley is claiming to be a journalist. In others, when he is slamming journalists, “I’m not a journalist, I’m a commentator.”

I remember once he said to Juan Williams, “You’re the journalist. I’m the analyist.”

I find it hard to believe that people actually think that Bill is particularly right-wing! He is more conservative than liberal, for sure, (he is a “traditionalist”) but I know a whole lot of people that are so much more “far right” than Oreilly! They consider him to be fairly moderate!

Have you ever actually watched his show?

I agree completely. It felt like I was overhearing a conversation at the cigar club.

He said that in the Wallace interview, too. Stressed it, in fact.

That speaks volumes about the company you keep.

And O’Reilly continues to promote himself as a fair-and-balanced moderate  last I checked, even though he’s more (covertly) conservative than (token) liberal.

Well, I live in Nashville, TN, and grew up in a fundamentalist church. (Don’t believe that way anymore, but I do pal around with many people from my former religious background – Church of Christ, and from my undergraduate college – David Lipscomb!) That skews my perspective a bit, perhaps. What is your background?

Believe me, there are plenty of people far to the right of Bill Oreilly!

It’s not so much that he’s all that far to the right as that he’s an obnoxious asshat. He’s also a total coward-he KNOWS Keith Olbermann would mop the floor with him in a real debate. (He’s also a hell of a lot sexier!)

I don’t think anyone is saying O’Reilly is a far-right extremist, but he is definitly a conservative. In addition to that, he’s a dishonest bully and general-purpose asshole, which is why so many people dislike him.

Although Nashville voted liberal in recent elections, I believe that Lipscomb graduates do tend to be more conservative and Republican than Peabody graduates for example. I believe former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist has promised government funding to build a new parking garage for religious affiliated David Lipscomb. (I admit that it is a good school and serves the community well.)

Bill is definitely to the right and a conservative. I wouldn’t say that he is “far right.” I don’t think it’s his conservative views that annoy people. It’s a combination of things: the way he walked out on an interview with Terry Gross on the radio, the sexual harrassment stink, his claims to be fair and balanced when he’s not, the way he gets things twisted, failure to accept responsibility, bullying, being a loudmouth, pouting…

He’s the kind of guy that makes women’s flesh crawl. And it’s hard to describe just why.

Yes, but really can we trust the opinions of Hitler, Musolini, Himmler and Albert Speer.
