Hi,
I’m wondering are there organizations for intelligent people other than Mensa? Cause I feel that Mensa only seem to cater towards a certain group of people, those who like to do puzzles and so forth. Thanks!

Here’s one, and welcome!
Ha Ha!
You misspelled “douchenozzles.”

If so, that wasn’t exactly a smart thing to do, since you’ve been around long enough to know not to give facetious answers in GQ before serious attempts have been made to respond. No warning issued, but let’s not be obnoxious to new posters.

I think this is better suited to IMHO than GQ.

So why is it in CS?
Then why is it in Cafe Society?

(I missed but was given an assist by another mod.)
We’re not exactly giving our guest the impression that this is good place to ask about organizations for intelligent people, are we (myself included)?![]()
I’m a member of Mensa, and I can tell you that there is no one “type” of Mensa member. We have exactly one thing in common–we score above a certain percentage on IQ tests. I personally am not a fan of a lot of puzzles; for example, I think that Sudoku is a waste of time.
For those who have a truly stratospheric IQ, joining Intertel is a possibility.

I joined Intertel in 2012. The membership is so low (only 1,000+ back then) that nothing happened. Unlike Mensa, you can’t even really get a good get-together with anyone local. They did try to arrange for members to get together on a cruise voyage, heading out of Galveston, but I don’t know how many (if any) signed up for it. I ended up quitting it not long afterwards just to save the annual member dues.
My comment was not in the least facetious. It was deadly serious. Deadly. Serious. And friendly.
Since when is “welcome” obnoxious to new posters?
There is the International Society for Philosophical Enquiry https://www.thethousand.com
It requires an IQ in the 99.9th percentile.
Don’t be disingenuous. He obviously already knew about this site. Your post was very obviously not what he was looking for. As such, your post was obnoxious and not the way we want to greet new posters. Try to be a bit more welcoming.
If you want to dispute moderation, take it to ATMB.
Join a boardgame group. To be fair, it will also mostly be people who enjoy puzzles but not quite so strictly, people usually have friendly personalities, the games are fun, and it gets you out of the house.
All I know is I’m so smart that my brain hurts.
Or any group that centers around an activity that involves the particular kind of “intelligence” which interests you. Just being “intelligent” in some abstract way doesn’t necessarily make a person interesting or fun to be with.
There’s an argument to be made that an intelligent person would know the answer to your question. ![]()
Welcome. My observation is partly in jest.
