Hey guys,
My dad was telling me about my great uncle who’s first name was Frohman, and I was wondering where the name was from. I couldn’t find any sources in a quick online search. Anything from you guys?

I know a couple of “Froments” from baseball. It’s a Spanish name, and the pronunciation is not much off from Frohman. Maybe it’s similar/related?
Could be bastardized German for ‘glad man’.
For what it’s worth, there is a webcomic based on Half Life 2 called Concerned, following the misadventures of a fellow named Gordon Frohman, it’s a pretty entertaining read, especially if you’ve played the games.
Abe Frohman, the Sausage King of Chicago?
(You can even buy a T-shirt.)
There was Charles Frohman, a theatrical impresario who died on the Lusitania. Eve will have heard of him. BTW, where is Eve these days?
Frohmann, two 'n’s, is a common German name.
As said above, the German froh means glad, happy, blithe, bright, cheery.
On hiatus from the SDMB and busy elsewhere.
Stupid hamsters, taking to much time to load the page.
You know, that makes Gordon Frohman’s name make perfect sense. He was cheerful to the point of clueless delusion throughout most of the comic.
