Origin of "Never sawer it again" and others...

In certain dialects of english, I’ve noticed an “er” sound is added to the end of words ending in the “ah/aw” sound. For example: “I never sawer it again, after that,” or “In a Champagne Supernover in the sky.” This usually seems to happen when the following word starts with an “ih” sound (as in “is” or “it”).

Can anyone shed any light on how this originated? Or why the “er” is only added in certain cases?
