But at roughly the same time he was professing the Hizbollah is da bomb, he was also saying he had connections with Al Qaeda.
So we have two theories to explain this:
First, that he was a pan Islamist, which he was able to draw a distinction with to contrast with the pan Arabist philosophies of other terrorist groups, and therefore could identify the common tenents of three terrorist groups who are literally trying to kill each other every day, in an effort to unite Muslims for a campaign of terror, which you seem to suggest; or,
Second, that he had no fucking clue what he was saying and barfed up names of terrorist organizations to scare people.
Until more evidence comes to light, I’m sticking with number two, thank you very much.
Or to put it another way, theory #2 is that the shooter was a clueless crackpot. Theory #1 is basically a variant of the old standard Great Scary Muslim Conspiracy™ in which every Muslim in the world is supposed to be involved.
