I’m just glad somebody other than me started an Orrin Hatch pit thread. There are pubbies who threaten to cause more harm, and pubbies who perhaps drop even bigger whoppers than Hatch, but somehow he manages to be especially annoying while he does it. It is reassuring that I’m not the only one to notice.

Yes. The same Tea Party idiots, that have no frame of reference, may take him down in the primary. After that, you could hope that the inbreds in Utah wake up enough to elect the Democrat. Something like that can happen. Good, sensible Democratic candidates have been elected to major offices in states like Utah and Idaho despite the overwhelming Republican majority.
The other scenario is for Hatch to do a Lieberman and that might just work. Lose the primary and run as an Independent. That might just attract enough Republicans and pragmatic Democrats to put him back in. If I was Hatch, that’s what I would do. “Fuck the Tea Party, I’m going to attract the voters.”
I’ve Pitted Hatch but I don’t take him for being stupid or evil. I despise him for allowing himself to become such a tool for fools.
Other than I’m more than a bit offended my “inbreds”, we’re no more inbred here than any other conservative Republican area, I couldn’t really say. I’m in Bennett’s area (didn’t vote for him either), but my gut feeling is no, he won’t win. At least not until the NON-liberal media here decides to point out what a fool he’s making of Utah.
Actually with his approval rating here, I don’t think he really needs to pander to the Tea Party.
