Thanks, ME! I’ve already seen the terrific 7:35 in the Morning, but I am glad Bill Plympton (Your Face, How to Kiss, One of Those Days) is nominated again for Guard Dog.
I just upgraded to Windows Media Player 10, and it works okay. Media Player is the only option they have, except for Ryan, which is on the Candian Film Board site at NFB at the Oscars® - Media Space : Media Space. You have the option of watching that in Media Player, Quicktime, or Realplayer.
Thanks–finally found a minute (or, actually, an hour) to watch them all.
Ryan’s provocative and the Plympton is, predictably, funny & disturbing. But Gopher Broke is a bust–tedious CGI characters involved in a not-really-funny situation that goes on way too long. Unfortunately, this is the type of film that’s been winning recently.
Little Terrorist was fine but 7:35 is unpredictable, hilarious, and pretty warped as well. Here’s hoping they do a theatrical run of some of the other nominated works as well (they usually do every year, traveling to the larger cities over a period of months).
I’m glad they put these online. I’m not in a big city, so I usually don’t get to see things like this.
The dog was hilarious–sick and twisted, but maybe that’s what dogs really are thinking. I wasn’t paying attention to the ending the first time–I didn’t catch it until the second time around.
