Trump has recently compared himself to Lincoln a couple of times recently. Then, a day or so ago he said, “They always said nobody got treated worse than Lincoln. I believe I am treated worse.” This was in response to a supporter calling him out on his bullying. ON FOX!
Yeah, maybe… except for that whole bullet in the head thing. Yes, yes, he was talking about the press but Lincoln historian Doris Kearns Goodwin says hogwash to that too. To mention his own name in the same sentence as Lincoln is ludicrious.
I’m sympathetic to her. She was thrust into a role she didn’t choose and by all accounts didn’t want. Supposedly she cried on election night because she realized she would have to become a public figure. (And purely speculation on my part but perhaps she was considering divorce but knew she could not, at least not until the presidency is over.)
While I’m somewhat sypathetic to her unwanted position, she shouldn’t campaign for causes her husband is guilty of. Call him out or shut the fuck up. I doubt very seriously that Trump “thrust” her into an anti-bullying campaign.
I’m sure someone explained to her that as first lady, she has to champion some cause, but nothing controversial. This first lady chose literacy, that one chose childhood nutrition. Perhaps they offered bullying to her as one of the options? Perhaps she was devious enough to deliberately choose something that her husband is guilt of?
Of her own fucking making. She cozied up to this prick and married his money. She’s now trapped, hoping every night that he doesn’t waddle his grotesque self into her bedroom again. No sympathy whatsoever for her. And as for her non-existent anti-bullying “platform”, just what exactly has she done to accomplish any progress in that arena other than to coin a vapid slogan?
Yes, she married Trump But he wasn’t a politician and he certainly wasn’t running for or serving as president. That’s a whole lot more scrutiny on him and on her than was in the past.
I feel sorry for her too (and think her anti-bullying campaign is genuine,) but, “being First Lady of the United States and married to a billionaire” is a “unique and horrible hell” that a great many people would love to trade places with.
I had sympathy for her
She signed up to be a New York City trophy wife but now needs to be First Lady.
But she has proven herself to be just as shallow, fatuous, and lacking in empathy as anyone else in that brood.
Fuck her.
I suppose Don he feels secure in knowing he will never be found at the theater on Friday night.
For someone so keen on projecting toughness and that he is not to be messed with, the Current Occupant sure does a whole damn lot of whingeing. Were he to affect more of an "ask me if I give a f**"* attitude it would not be as annoying.
I’m pretty sure there must be something out there in the now several-orders-of-magnitude larger media world. But in regular “respectable” media, they sort of have lost that edge.
