Our backyard shed sprouted kittens (again)

I don’t have a problem affording cat food. With our last installment of sprouting kittens I bought a big bag of cat chow I ended up throwing away when Not Donald never returned. We did pick up a few cans while we were out shopping yesterday. But we also frequently have leftover chicken and such. As long as he’s around, Not Butters (the name I didn’t pick out) will get them instead of the trash. There only seems to be one kitten now. Hopefully the other one is with his momma.

I’ve decided I’ll try to tame him enough to take him to be neutered and let him remain as an outdoor cat that is not mine. Animal control here sucks. If you call them the stock reply is “We don’t have the resources to help you with whatever your silly little issue is.” The neighbor’s two Akita dogs once came over to dismember a cat in our back yard, and Animal Control just shrugged and said there was nothing he could do. I don’t call them any more.

Not Butters is a good name.

We’re slowly making friends. I can get close enough to take a few pictures now.

Meet Not Butters

He’s talking to me inthis one.

Oh, how sweet. I hope you can keep him.

that is a sweet looking little kitty

I prefer to keep my kitties indoors, but he can’t be an indoor kitty because we are both allergic and I can’t stand the thought of going back to being asthmatic. Plus we do travel and I would worry about him when we’re gone if he has to live outside. I think I’m on the verge of taming him. He actually sniffed my hand when I was giving him his string cheese snack. If I can get him tame, I might be able to find him a home where he can live indoors. He’s a cute little thing.

He’s adorable.

What a little cutie. I hope you can catch him and he gets a wonderful home.

Kittens will be adopted in no time flat. The sooner they’re captured and socialized, the better their lives will be.

I hear ya on the asthma etc. My daughter works at a pet supply store that hosts cats for a rescue group and if it weren’t for my asthma, we’d have grabbed at least a dozen of them ourselves.

Well, I am pleased to report that Not Butters is now officially declared tame. I can pet him, snuggle him, elicit enthusiastic purring and can report that he is indeed a him. Yay. As soon as he is old enough he is going for his shots and a snip snip. (But don’t tell him about that last part.)

Shhh! It’s our secret.
