Our old dog has lost the ability to walk. We're HOPING he will recover

I am so sorry.

It seems to me very much as if he was indeed recovering from the one problem, and then something else major went wrong; and he was telling you that whatever it was, this was just too much and he was done.

I’m glad your vet was able to come to you, so that he could die safe and undisturbed at home.

I am so sorry. I’m sure you made the best decision. Please don’t be like me and second guess yourself. Doc was tired and ready. He will always live on in your heart.

i’m so sorry to read this. y’all, everyone of you fought so hard. it is good you were able to do this at home.

All of my best to you. You gave him a great life, so remember the good times. I’ve got tears in my eyes.

So sorry to hear, he was a well loved pup . I hope the good memories never fade.

I’m so sorry to hear it. I’m glad you gave him such a good life and a good death. He’s lucky to have had you.

Thanks for the condolences everyone. The hardest part was already over before he passed. Now we both just feel a sense of relief and we can move on with our lives knowing that we did the best we could.

I also learned something very valuable - which cannot be overstated. I now know how to deal with a dog suffering from ideopathic vestibular syndrome. If another dog of mine ever experiences the same symptoms - and DOESN’T have underlying conditions like tumors - I’ll know how to nurse him back to health, I have acquired the patience to deal with it, and I’ll be able to help anyone else whose dog has the same situation. The many helpful posts by everyone here have contributed to that, so, again, thank you all very much.

Sorry for your loss. I wish our dogs all lived as long as we do.

Fair thee well, Doc.
