You know, been runned over, twice. Went paralyzed. A couple of coyote attacks.
Tonight might be the Full Cadillac. Got himself bit by a 2 year old rattler-type snake (I know this because I killed him with undue, scratch that- totally due prejudice and carted him home later on. Counted the rattles). I got a Benedryl into D ASAP, but a trip to the vet ain’t gonna happen. Too far, too far gone (me). I’m really unhappy about this. I could have prevented this if I grabbed his ass and threw him in the Jeep. My only job was to be smarter than the dog at that point, and I failed. Trying to keep him as comfortable as I can. Got him set up in a big bath-tub with his bed and blanket. It’s been a couple hours, and he ain’t dead yet, so I’m keeping up hope. But I really fear he’s gonna go overnight. And It won’t be good, I bet.
I don’t know if he’s gonna make it. I’m only posting this to keep me awake and aware and to remind me to keep checking on him. And I’m in a sort of panic and need to do something other than what got us all into this mess. He did eat some cheese I gave him, so there is that. A collective Dope finger crossing, please.
Stay with him, stay with him, love on him all night long. Let him know you’re there to live for. Nothing means more to dogs. Hoping against hope that Doxie pulls through.
My hope is that the snake didn’t really have a good opportunity to inject the venom. It was a rapid-fire bite and not sure if Snake-Ola really got much Go-Go Juice into Mr. Doxie. Certainly drew blood. Bled all over in the back of the Jeep, But that was from a cut on his ear. Thin and lots of blood flowing, but not so sure Mr. Snake got a bunch of poison into the dog. It was real quick.
Just checked. Breathing seems semi-normal. He is responsive. Holding out hope. Like I say, maybe Mr. Snako didn’t get a chance to pump in much Kill Sauce. It was fast!
