I saw an article titled “A partnership to cure sleeping sickness” on my school’s homepage and happened to skip down to this line:
“As its name implies, sleeping sickness occurs exclusively in sub-Saharan Africa”
Err… what? Is this related to some sort of racial stereotype…?
But then I looked at the previous paragraph and found that the full name of the disease is “African sleeping sickness”. Meep.
