Some businesses keep those around for employees laboring in hot environments. If you’re drinking water because of the heat and sweating a lot, you can get low on electrolytes.

That was a go-to thing for my parents. I don’t think it is used much nowadays. The smell was unmistakable. I guess it is fairly harmless, since I have survived despite being dosed with a lot of it as a young person….

Kaolin (the main ingredient in the old Kaopectate) does little except maybe absorb extra fluid in the stool. Morphine, obviously, has a major constipating effect. So the combo actually makes some sense!
