Outdoor motion sensor light question

Replace a motion sensor on a hard wired out door post light today. I have LEDs in it if it matters.

Anywho, as a temp fix before replacing that sensor, I have a motion activated LED/Solar charged light in the same area. Kind of like it.

My question is, will one cancel the other out? i.e. One light comes on, and the other won’t turn on since it’s too bright? I suspect so. They are both programed to only activate at night.

Silly question I suppose, and I will find out in about 5 hours.

Don’t know but why keep and maintain the hard wired one(s)?

I have four of these (different brand-same price from Bed Bath & Beyond) between my driveway and my front door, and one on the American Flag beside the door so I can leave it outside at night. No batteries to change.

Yeah, I know. But there’s always a but… The hard wire light is functional as well as…ornamental. And I can buy LEDs (3) that are orange instead of white. It actually looks and works quite well.

The solar job has 48 white LEDs in it. Does quite a good job or turning night into day. I put it up as a temporary. I was curious. I’ll probably stick it over by the shed. Or what a hell of a work light I could use it for.

… Anyway. Answered my own question tonight. The lights are not canceling each other out. The sensor to determine if it’s night or day must not be picking up whatever wavelength (?) of the other light.
