I love TV shows on DVD. I stopped watching TV in 1992, when I went off to college. I’d occasionally hear about an interesting show and have a momentary pang of wistfulness, but just a few minutes of TV at someone else’s house would remind me of what I was definitely not missing. My god, but those commercials are annoying. They’re even more annoying when you haven’t been inundated with them for years. So I knew that I would never, ever go back to TV. And then TV-to-DVD came about. Now I own:
Buffy: tVS Seasons 1-6
Angel - Season 1-3
CSI - Seasons 2-3
Alias - Seasons 1-2
Futurama - Season 3
The Simpsons - Season 1-4
24 - Seasons 1-2
Firefly - Season 1
All of which are without commercials. This reminds me of a thread I’ve been planning to start in CS about the likelyhood of success of direct-to-DVD “television shows.” I think I’ll do that now.
