Overprivileged White Lady Calls "Okay" Gesture "White Power" Gestur, Fake News Sites Report It...

As I explained, the way gangs have been doing is instructive, a symbol is used by a group to identify themselves as the only ones who “get it”. But once the secret is out or known by the opponent it loses the hidden value the group wanted to give it. It is not a permanent thing.

More offensive is the OP for using Louder with Crowder as a cite, that dumb guy has even pinned the radar of the ones defending climate science.

(The latest climate error from Steve Crowder)

Crowder just demonstrated there that he does not know how to read.

Without a little more information it’s hard to tell exactly what kind of recipes you’re looking for here, but I’ll give it a shot.
May I suggest Chicken Cameron?

Ingredients (Serves 4)

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 1⁄2 cups breadcrumbs
1⁄3 cup fresh parmesan cheese, grated
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1⁄4 cup milk
4 tablespoons butter
1 garlic clove, minced
1⁄2 teaspoon ground pepper
1 cup sliced almonds
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1⁄2 cup white wine

Place chicken breast between waxed paper and pound thin.
In shallow dish, mix together bread crumbs and cheese.
In small bowl, mix together eggs, and milk.
Dip chicken in egg mixture then dredge in crumb mixture.
In large saute pan or skillet, melt butter and garlic.
Place chicken in pan and sprinkle with pepper.
Over medium-high heat, brown chicken on both sides, add almonds to pan after turning chicken.
When almonds are golden brown, remove from pan and set aside.
To chicken in pan, add lemon juice and wine; simmer 5 minutes but DO NOT OVERCOOK.
Place chicken on warm platter; top with almonds and sauce and garnish with lemon slices and capers. Serve with Cranberry Relish.

Bravo. Very nice.

I shouldn’t laugh, but that’s hilarious

That’s it. I’m only going to imitate Richard Nixon from now on when I need hand signals.

OOOOOOOOk-rahoma, hear the wind come sweepin’ through his brain…*

As long as they don’t take away the middle finger. Cuz that’s the one these people deserve the most.

In fact Brits do use a two-fingered V-shaped gesture to convey the same sentiment. The difference from the peace sign is the direction the hand is facing: palm outward - “peace” (or, if you’re Churchill, “victory”); palm inward, “fuck you” (generic you, not you personally, Guin).

I learned that one from watching The Young Ones. I tested it out on a British guy at work as I was walking by, and his eyes bugged out. “Why did you do that?” I told him that I just wanted to see if it was a real thing.

Something George Bush seniorshould have known before visiting my country many years ago.

There’s no one named George Bush Senior, nor is there anyone named George Bush Junior. The father, the 41st president, is George H. W. Bush and his son, the 43rd president, is George W. Bush.

And I’m nitpicking on this only because every time an American on this board refers to the head of state of the UK as the “Queen of England” some smartass Brit finds it necessary to point out that the last queen of England was centuries ago.

That is why I prefer Bush, The father; and Bush, The lesser.

Well bully and victory signs to you then, good sir.

So these Nazis are just telling us they are assholes? COOL!

Otay!

I learned that one by accident when, many moons ago, I worked at a bookstore and my manager was from England. He asked me how many copies of a particular book we had, and I indicated, from across the noisy store, that we had 2 copies. He later told me that his initial impulse was to fire me on the spot, until he thought about it for a second and remembered that I’m a Yank.

This thread is a good example of why more people need a finer-tuned understanding of semiotics, a subject most dismiss as obvious or boring or esoteric. I recommend reading Eco. His works are clearly-written, even if they assume an understanding of classical languages and literary references. His thought sits in a medial position between the founders of the discipline (Peirce, Saussure) and structural/post-structuralist skeptics (Barthes, Derrida), a dialectic I encourage you to explore further by reading – or at least reading about – those authors.
