Has anybody done a urinalysis on you? Is pain worse if you drink a bunch of beer? Any blood in urine or cloudy urine?
Ureteral stone (passing kidney stone) could cause a similar constellation of symptoms. Most stones should have passed by now, but some larger ones (and even some small ones) need some professional help.
I only suggest it, because sometimes specialist only “see what they see”. (If you are a hammer, the world looks like a nail)
I had 2 docs tell me how great Gabapentin is and prescribed it.
I now have 2 bottles of worthless pills.
Another “seems to work for some” is Glucosamine/Chondroitin, on which the FDA did a study and pronounced worthless.
Maybe if you ask for a drug by its chemical name, you’ll get points with the MD: Hydromorphone is Dilaudid; Hydrocodone is Vicodin.
Don’t know the term for Demerol, but have never heard of tat being dispensed outside a hospital.
Morphine sulfate ER in MS Contin, and oxycodone is Oxycontin (best not to mention due to extreme abuse).
Find another Ortho cutter - I would not trust one who is afraid of controlled substances - does he pass out aspirin post-op?
