Oxycontins......pill or liquid solution?

Does anyone out there know the exact strength and dosage of liquid solution Oxycontin?

In pill form, it comes in 40, 60, and 80 milligram doses. I was wondering how much liquid solution is needed to be equivelent to each respective dose.

I can’t find any kind of info on the net concerning this, just manufacture specs and such. I’m currently writing a play where this question comes into the plotline, and was wondering if we had any chemists or pharmacists around here on the board.

Sure…you need it to write your play…sure…

I have no idea though, sorry.

Very handy site for quick drug references:

As for Oxycontin:

Oxycontin

It comes in 10, 20, 40, 80, and 160 mg tablets. As far as I know, it does not come in a manufacturer supplied liquid formulation.

Thanks for the info. Perhaps the liquid solution I read about isn’t Oxycontin per se, but another opiate formula.

Oxycontin is oxycodone in a solid matrix which is specially designed to cause it to be released slowly over time, rather than all at once. I don’t think it would be practical or workable as a liquid.
