Packers' Johnny Jolly suspended for 2010 season.

So, given that, the Pack just pulled far into the lead.

The Vikings did instutute an allegedly tough “Code of Conduct” policy after that, and the Vikings have been relatively scandal free since then, except for Bryant McKinnie’s escapades and the Williams Wall thing.

Did the Williamses appeal the initial ruling that they’d have to serve their suspensions?

Yes, and they’ve managed to keep it stayed for like two years now. It’s complicated, but a lot of it has to do with a peculiar state labor law in Minnesota which a judge has ruled makes the NFL’s rules unenforcable in the state. Or something like that. I don’t know exactly. All I know is they’ve got good lawyers. I heard they’ve even been talking about maybe retiring after this season, which could possibly mean they will have been able to stall this suspension for literally the rest of thir careers.

I can see Pat Williams retiring; he’s going to be 38 by the end of this season. Kevin Williams is only going to be turning 30, though, and he ought to be able to play at least two or three more seasons after this one.

It might only be Pat that’s talking about retiring. I know at least one of them was.

Incidentally, both of those guys were on the Love Boat too.
