Meh, it’s already a word, though, one in not-that-uncommon use, especially in a sports context. We need a really solid portmanteau. Novguing? Too hard to read/pronounce. Bobsisting?
I *like *Bobsisting
They are nothing to do with any tweet, I have not referenced any tweet at all.
Does anyone else think about Toxic Shock with this calculation. Not only is this calculation ignorant, its DEADLY. Its the antivax equivalent of menstrual management.
You jumped on to defend ths guy who said women only have 9 periods a year. You said “that’s not bad”. This is the guy saying that. This is the behavior you are saying is “B”, not “C”.
This would be a real good time to step away from the computer. It really comes across like you’ve lost track of everything except a need to not be wrong; and that’s not a good situation to be in.
Well…clearly no. Not functionally the same thing at all and I am equally unsurprised that you can’t grasp it. I also said “nagging” was another term that I don’t like. It would be ludicrous to draw the same conclusion from that to say that I think the concept of “nagging” doesn’t exist. I think “mixologist” is a bullshit and unnecessary term but I don’t deny the fact that some people create cocktails.
If someone invented the term “penis liberation” for flashing I’d call that a bullshit and unhelpful term and still be able to accept that it happens.
You made a clear accusation that I personally had made “stupid sexist arguments”. Your words. Now when challenged I note that you are unable to produce any evidence for that and instead weave some sort of fiction to pretend you never said it, you did.
you said…in your own words.
That’s a direct accusation that I’ve put forward sexist arguments. OK then. Quote them or admit you were wrong.
Wow, So you cannot find any real quotes of mine that are a problem. Those must be too difficult to find or too time consuming for you. Yet you have no problem directly making up quotes and constructing your post to attribute them to me. This may be the pit but surely you aren’t allowed to do that?
Just for the record, I never, ever said either of those things. It is barrel-scraping desperation of the lowest kind for you to make them up.
It is so easy for you to make the accusation, so easy for you to make up quotes out of nothing and yet apparently impossible for you to quote any actual defence of a sexist by me or any sexist argument that I’ve made.
You’ve had ages, you’ve got all my posts to trawl, you have everything to gain by backing up your accusations and yet…zip.
You’ve now moved into outright fabrication, somehow forgetting that the whole of this thread stands as a record of what was actually said.
No, I didn’t. I’ve not defended him at all. Quote me where I’ve defended him.
It’s a conversation on a message board with some people misunderstanding what has been written and outright lying about what I’ve said.
We’re not thrashing out an arms-deal though.
All righty, then. You keep R.Kellying this interview.
And again, you have the option of pointing out factually where I’m wrong or slinging mud in the form a comparison to an accused serial sex offender.
Was there no other comparison at your disposal? or does the flavour of that one suit your purpose?
Here is your original post. It sure looks like you read the tweet and are holding up the guy as an example of “doing the calculations”–that his tweet, where he “did the calculation” was not egregious. That it was “not bad” and that it would only “be bad” if he stuck to his erroneous assumptions and that the initial statement was not a bad thing.
If the “it’s not a bad thing to make the calculations” was not a description of the tweet where the guy made the calculations, you sure needed to make that more clear.
I’m fine doing both. Where you’re wrong has been pointed out to you repeatedly. We’re past that and into the mockery phase of things.
Curious what you see as the outcome to this thread. But only mildly.
Everytime you mentioned doing the calculations, or 9 periods per year, you were indirectly referring to the tweet that the guy made, where he did the calculations based on 9 periods per year. That was the source of that entire part of the conversation.
Quote me the wrong thing I’ve said.
Tell you what, If want to know whether I’m referencing a tweet why don’t you look for the part of my post where I mention the tweet.
If I am referencing the tweet I’ll be sure to reference the tweet. I didn’t and I wasn’t.
So now we are clear on that, do you agree that my original, general, statement is accurate and uncontroversial i.e. that.
I love how you think that this trick will still be effective, after all the times people have already tried to show you where you’re wrong. At any point will you give up on this trick, or do you think it’s a magic bullet for winning the argument?
A real quote would be the more traditional response.
Sweetie Pie, it’s not that we don’t understand what you’re saying, you don’t have to keep restating and repeating your blather - it’s just we don’t agree w/ you. I’m sure you think our disagreement indicates our failure to understand your words and intent, but you are wrong. We don’t have to prove to you why you’re wrong, you’re not entitled to an explanation and only an ass would think they were.
The same kind of ass that mansplains.
