Paint damage on car -- can a detailing place fix this?

I have to park outside. Lots of bird poop, twigs, leaves, and just nature in general. The parking spot gets some sun, but not a lot of direct sunshine. I noticed this brownish, rusty-looking stuff on the trunk of the car. It’s not on the hood. It has a raised texture. I could not remove it with my fingernail. Is this paint damage, or some precipitate that has formed a crust on the car? Can a detailing place buff it off (or whatever they do). I’ve never dealt with this sort of thing before because I’ve never had a car this nice. It’s a 2015 Mazda and I bought it new (first new car ever).

Maybe.
It’s a little alarming that you couldn’t remove it with a fingernail, but a shot of Bug and Tar remover might be worthwhile. If that works, than any detail place should be able to fix it with no problems.

Most paint damage is putting, not raised.

Yep, odds are good a detailer can remove that, especially if you’ve waxed the car recently. You could try a clay kit or cleaner/wax (wax with mild abrasives) if you want to try DIY.

I was able to scrape off a bit of the crusty top with my fingernail, but it looks like there’s still discoloration of the paint underneath.

I’m going to take it to a detailing place. Thanks for the comments.
