I thought McCain wanted to distance this ticket from every stupid thing Bush did wrong!
To be completely fair, her comment of:
isn’t necessarily linking Saddam with 9/11, but could be more reasonably interpreted to mean that Al Qaeda is in Iraq now and that is who they’ll be fighting. Even if Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia makes up just a very small percentage of the insurgent groups in Iraq.
I was going to say the same thing. Parse her words right and they could mean that NOW there are certain persons in Iraq who helped cause 9/11. I sure would like her to answer the unspoken question about whether or not she believes there were any links, but I think she’ll be well enough prepped to answer that one.
I’m not so sure. If the clips from the ABC interview are any indication of her preparedness, she’s in big trouble, as I think she fell flat on her face. Her answers were naive, evasive and off the mark. I’m looking forward to seeing the entire interview.
But if she offers anything other than canned one-liners, she’s in danger of sounding like one of them intellectual elitists!
Nice try, but based on this, I don’t believe she’s sophisticated enough to warrant any parsing, here.
