Palin says Obama would kill her baby

A “death panel” doesn’t bring tea and cookies. Well, Obama’s death panel might bring him tea and cookies for their death panel book club meetings, but that’s not tea and cookies for the rest of us!

She said a “death panel” was going to decide something about her child. A “death panel” was going to decide something regarding her child. You can’t get around that. She wanted her readers to gasp in horror and fear about a “DEATH PANEL” deciding something about HER CHILD. Not a coverage panel or a care panel or a health care panel or an eligibility panel or just a panel. A DEATH PANEL.

Yes, to reiterate, and re-reiterate, and re-re-reiterate. You’ve said that, shut the fuck up about it. Nobody gives a goddamned how literally you want to read the title, especially because you obviously haven’t even read the OP. Hint: there’s more content there.

I stand by the title, for reasons explained above in posts you didn’t bother to read.

Just a few random thoughts to add.

If the government wants efficient death panels, staff them with Texans.

Today’s death panels are called juries, and a death sentence seems to remarkably prolong the lives of those on death row. So perhaps we should be sentencing murderers to HMOs, and sick people to death.

If Terry Schiavo was a vegetable, what exactly is meat? This question has serious implications for Sarah Palin and her retarded vagina.

I agree with all of this. Still, she didn’t say Obama would kill her baby.

I did read them and I found them wanting.

Fake edit to add: I liked the unedited version of this post better.

Then, seriously, you are pretty much marking yourself as someone who can’t add anything to political discussions. Politics is all about insinuations and dogwhistling. That you can’t see it means you’re missing half of the meaning behind what people are saying.

Wrong. I am “marking myself” as someone who is tired of outrageous bullshit claims about people they don’t like.

It’s just plain stupid to think that it’s OK to say anything about a political opponent just becaue they are a political opponent. Cricetus could have chose different words for the title but chose to go with an untrue statement. I think that’s bad. So I told him about it.

I would have been OK with “Palin insinuates that Obama’s health [care or insurance] reform proposal would kill her baby.”

Then you’re talking to the wrong people. SarahPAC is down the hall.

…no, that’s not what he said at all. However, people who need medical treatment to live, such as those with diabetes, impaired kidney function, or about a billion other fucking conditions, will die without health care. It’s just that simple. Former governor Palin is insinuating that her baby with Downs Syndrome would be judged by a medical review panel as being not worth the expense of the care necessary to maintain a decent quality of life. Withholding necessary medical care from a person is the same as killing him.

But its not “witholding medical care”, its refusing to coddle people who make bad choices, like genetically inferior parents.

How can you read the quote in the original post and not call her a liar? There will be no death squads, and if there were death squads they would not be in charge of deciding who’s valuable enough to society to deserve health care. Palin is strongly implying that her baby would die because of Obama’s health care reforms. What the fuck is your problem?

Ah! But you can sit on the *Death Panel *in your underware! Join the Squad and you gotta run around and shit!

And I agree with Post #36!

Yes, and then you told me about it again, and again, and again, and you said I was lying about other things, and I showed that I’d provided direct evidence for them in post #1, so you weaseled around a bit and started harping on the title again. You’ve made it clear that you don’t like the title. I’ve made it clear that I don’t give a shit, and I give less of a shit every time you post because I can see what a smear on this discussion you really are.

The unedited version was just as lame.

You’re thinking of the “Cake or Death Panel” which the Church of England runs.

Uh, death, please. No, cake! Cake! Cake, sorry. …

Ah, “Cake or Death!” Patrick Henry’s first slogan ran into trouble in the focus group.

Cake OR death? I prefer to have my cake and edict too.

I haven’t read the last couple of pages, but in case no-one’s said it:

Universal healthcare never prevents people from taking out health insurance and/or going private.

It’s something that exists in addition to the existing system.
It can help millions that otherwise cannot afford health care. Just maybe not all of them.
