Yes, i am an elderly 44. Tonight at 6:45 p.m. actually.
My son will be going out to buy crepe paper and balloons(he loves to go all out and decorate).
And we’ll be going out to Friendly’s tonight with my friend of 24 years, Stacie.
I got an ice cream cake this time. Never tried it before but I hear its good.
I wanted a lemon cake, but bakeries don’t make them.

You know, vanilla, there is so much you’ve taught me since you joined the SDMB. You’ve taught me how to maintain dignity in the face of repeated personal attacks. You’ve taught me that this IS a place worth returning to even after you feel like you’ve just been through the world’s largest meat-shredder. And you - like so many other people I’ve encountered on this messageboard - have taught me that we don’t need to have identical opinions about life’s “important” issues in order to be friends.
You have grown so very much in the time you’ve been a member of the SDMB - I really hope that in later years (as your opinions become more defined and more certain) you’ll pay us a visit now and then.
I wish for you this day everything that you would wish for yourself.

I so wish that I’d previewed that last post…it was meant to read “and more than a little affection”. Can the mod on duty please fix it for me?
My only excuse for total incoherence is that I’ve been awake since 5am yesterday and I’m not going to bed until the bushfire threat has passed. It’s now almost 2:30am “today”. Yes, I HAVE been awake for 21 hours, and I can’t see myself sleeping anytime soon given the stae of the sky.
