Wonky situations where different companies have the rights to certain movies in different countries.

Yes, I really liked this film.
Unfortunately I can’t watch the Youtube video (presumably because I’m in the UK.)
The Miracle of Morgan’s Creek is a Preston Sturges movie, which means it features sophisticated humor, slapstick, a world-weary philosophy and a hero who seems to get there purely by chance. You’ll either find it to be something like the Coen brothers or you’ll absolutely hate it. Either way it’s worth checking out.
I love this film! I’ve got it streaming from YouTube to my Roku right now.
My other favorite from this collection. I’m not exactly clear what Paramount’s economic motivation is for these uploads - maybe the one ad before the film is enough. I hope it succeeds; I’d love to see more studios putting full movies up.
“Seven Men From Now” is one of the great westerns of the 1950s by Budd Boetticher and Randolph Scott with Lee Marvin.
Bill Warren also praises it (I Married a Monster From Outer Space) in his book, Keep Watching the Skies. I think it’s pretty good, if dated, and features some fine acting from Gloria Talbott and Tom Tryon. The theme–humans taken over by aliens–is standard, but that’s true of a lot of science fiction films, and the sexual aspects give it an interesting twist. The special effects are fine for the time, and as I said, the acting is generally good. I would not describe it as a bad film at all.
Artist and Models was supposed to be the best of the Martin and Lewis pics. It was directed by Frank Tashlin. I haven’t watched the whole thing though.
It’s a lackluster list.
I’m pretty certain I have a DVD collection I bought from Wal-Mart’s bargain bin that contains most of the horror films on that list. When a somewhat recent film such as the not 1986 Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 gets thrown in as well, you know it’s bad. As mentioned above anything that was featured on MST3k is worth a peek, and I’d add Missing in Action as well. It sets a gold standard for bad 1980’s action cheese, although you may have already seen it as AMC enjoyed playing it ad nauseam around 2005-06.
The ones I’ve seen and liked:
The Chumscrubber
Margot at the Wedding
Bound
I’m interested in checking out Beneath since it’s both a horror movie and it stars Nora Zehetner. Win win!
One thing I’m confused about is how this doesn’t violate Youtube’s modesty policy. Most of the movies look like G-Rated Hays Code fare, but Bound has fairly explicit sex and blatant nudity. And yes, for purely research purposes I verified that the sex and nudity in Bound is fully intact in the youtube offering.
I have a theory as to why most of them are free.
I’ve seen:
Appointment With Death
No Man of Her Own
Omar Khayyam
King Solomon’s Mines
Thunder in the East
The Strange Love of Martha Ivers
King Creole
Here Comes the Groom
The Deadly Bees
The Space Children
I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead
Queer Duck
Conquest of Space
Ironwood
The ones in bold I actually thought were enjoyable.
