San Diegans traveling to Mexican destinations often cross the border by land and fly from Tijuana, both for the lower prices and avoiding airport customs and immigration. That’s been streamlined in recent years by building a complex of parking lots and a terminal-like building on the U.S. side. Since the Tijuana airport is built right on the border that makes it possible to park in the U.S, cross a covered foot bridge, and emerge in Mexico, right inside the airport itself … with customs and immigration checks taken care of en route. Very convenient!
My question is: is that unique? There are a lot of countries and a lot of a borders in the world. Are there other places where you can land in one country and walk to your car parked in another?
