Parrot babies (chicks?)

Can any one please tell me where I can find an informative website on baby parrots?

Thank you!

I did a Google search using “baby parrots” and “caring for”, and I got too many responses to list. Try putting those words into Google complete with the quotation marks like this: “baby parrots” “caring for”

Hope that helps.

What type and age of parrot? There is a lot of info available. I could point you in the right direction if I knew what you were looking for.

Yikes!

Please tell me some chicks are not in your house! Chicks are meant to eat regurgutated food from adult birds. When hand-fed they need special chow, warmed, lots of time each day.

People who raise birds are insanely busy with feedings morning noon and night. Even then (and even in nature) The mortality of baby parrots is huge.

Seek help from the local animal-welfare people right the heck now!

What Paul said.

I’m hoping this is an academic question. Last time we did it, we had to bring them to work with us to keep them alive (feedings every few hours, time interval changing as they age). When the boss didn’t like it, only choice was to give upo the job or let the babies die…

Fortunately, we were blessed with a rare circumstance, in that my closest friend is knowledgeable about parrots and was out of work on disability, so it worked out.

I recommend www.upatsix.com and www.birdsnways.com for knoweldge base and message board help.

We don’t have any parrots here.

My 8 year old was looking for information on how mother parrots take care of their young.

Thanks for your replies!

While it’s not a website, there is a message board called BirdBoard that has a lot of knowledgeable people and searchable archives. They may be able to help answer any specific questions.
