Because I am brilliant, and likely the best husband ever ( ), I have solved this dilemma by buying TWO wraps. One is 100% cashmere, the other a cashmere/silk blend. While one is being washed, she can use the other.
And this is our second child, so we’re well versed in the use of burp cloths and other such vomit-proofing techniques, so I hope I’m not washing these things every day!
Agree with this. I’ve got lots of them, and always have. I even wore them before they came in fashion, ditto ponchos. I’ve always been a very scarfy gal.
Jesus Christ, Lynn, we get it. You, personally, would not want a luxury wrap. A lot of other women would, especially when awesome husband just said he’d include a note saying he would take care of the hand washing. You make it seem like anyone still considering such a gift after you point out why you think it’s a shitty idea is a moron. Lynn has spoken; Lynn wouldn’t want one and so no one else should.
You are a star! Your wife will be thrilled, I’m sure. And the silk/cashmere blend will be great for this time of year when it can still be a bit warm during the day, with the full cashmere being ideal for when it gets cooler.
An Lynn, if you get something that’s not machine washable, just save it for special occassions. How hard is that? I think it’s nice to keep something that’s NOT for every day wear.
Because I’m lazy and I like nice things, I put my delicates in a mesh laundry bag and throw them in on a gentle cycle. Nothing has ever worn out before its time.
How likely is Baby to keep spitting up? My son is three now, but he rarely spit up, and the times that he did were right after a feeding. My wife wore her pashmina. She also wore her winter shearlings. Anyhow, most coats aren’t going to be wash and wear anyhow. I know that none of my winter coats are, and I don’t think that my wife’s winter wear is either.
From what I recall, feedings only became messy when he started eating solid foods and that was contained to dinner time.
Buying pashmina as a birthday present for your wife is a good idea, particularly, at a time, once, the winters are about set in. I got one a couple of years ago from Spencer’s Pashmina and I cherish wearing that.
