Speaking of trashy…
Thanks Miller.
It appears the accuser’s case is disintegrating.
That’s from a month ago.
Well it’s still the last update!
Not anymore.
The accuser will no longer be involved in the case. It’s pretty obvious the whole thing will soon be dropped.
I want the truth, whatever it is. Having said that, I’m glad it looks like the truth is that Patrick Kane did not rape this woman.
I’m not sure that’s what it looks like. This woman clearly had some sort of (probably intimate) contact with Kane. That is not to say it looks like he did rape her.
Having been involved in many rape investigations I can with great certainly say you can not draw that conclusion. It’s very difficult to have a victim continue with a case that does not involve publicity and the prospect of getting attacked in court by a high priced defense team. I can’t imagine what it would take to put yourself through the entire process when it involves a celebrity.
It was almost inevitable that she would stop cooperating once her name was released. I’m sure she’s received several death threats already.
Does her mom being involved in that weird evidence hoax color either of your opinions?
I agree something intimate happened that night. I understand that the victim not wanting the emotional trauma of going through a couple years of staying with this, is a plausible explanation for her dropping out.
Still, something just feels off about it.
No it does not. The way it played out it is at best tangential to the case. Her mother may be a nut job or immoral. That has nothing to do with what happened or didn’t happen with her.
Eh, slightly. But more because we’re now not entirely sure the prosecuting/investigating agency locked down the chain of custody than because it says anything about the daughter.
Could you please, like, open an academy or something and train all the law enforcement officers in my jurisdiction?
And it’s over.
I doubt that there will be a civil case brought against Kane by the accuser. Nor do I believe that Kane will sue her for defamation or some such.
Note that the press still has not published her name.
It was the only proper decision given the circumstances. According to the prosecutor the ‘victim’'s statement was full of inconsistencies and just didn’t add up. Not all accusations of rape are truthful, heresy though that may be to the extremist wing of feminism.
I agree with you, based on the little I know about the case, but it is not quite a nitpick -
The purpose of the DA’s investigation was not to determine if the accusations were true or false, and said investigation did not determine if they were false (or true). The investigation was whether or not there was enough evidence to proceed. Things can be true without having enough evidence to stand up in court. IYSWIM.

I hate seeing this thread popping up all the time. I see it and have to think, when was Patrick Kane allegedly raped?
You published the name of a rape victim? You monster. Ban him! Ban him!

Shodan
Last year? (Although I don’t know if you can rape yourself)
