So do you have anything to say about PAUL RYAN’S pathological lying and hypocrisy or not? Because your post belongs in a different thread, there is even a “stupid liberal idea of the day” thread already made for you.
Because progressives value truth, they will actually criticize their own. Do you value truth, and will you criticize Paul Ryan’s obvious lying habit?
Well, I, for one, will stick my neck out and condemn Biden’s 25-year-old transgressions. I’ll look through my posting history to see what I had to say about this issue back then, and if I did not condemn it, I will be back here to apologize.
Biden did admit he was wrong, and he dropped out of the race back in 1987. I am willing to say that 25 years of good behavior makes up for his past lies. Perhaps Ryan will follow Biden’s lead, drop out, and put in 25 years of good service before making another run for VP.
Politicians from both parties lie. It’s about the only thing they excel at. Debbie Wasserman Shultz has been caught blatantly lying twice in the past week but she is still the DNC chair and I don’t think anyone has accused her of being pathological or a compulsive liar. Biden has told some real whoppers in his time (the worst being from the 80’s but there’s plenty more where that came from) but that’s just Joe being Joe. Obama lied about his relationship with Bill Ayers and his knowledge Rev. Wright’s sermons. He lied about his mother fighting with the her health insurance company over a preexisting condition. His aids lied about knowing who Joe Soptic was after his superPAC commercial. His aides lied about him being a member of the socialist New Party. Are they all compulsive liars or politicians? My guess is the left can’t come up with anything on Ryan so they are throwing a lot of shit at the wall hoping that something will stick.
Progressives do not value truth. They prefer the Big Lies.
Your 100 Mile time: 04:03:27
Your Paul Ryan-adjusted 100 Mile time: 2:56:30.07
Congratulations, you have set a new Paul Ryan-certified World Record!
Your time beats the past Men’s World Record for 100 Mile of 11:46:37.
Anyone remember why Joe Biden wasn’t the Democratic candidate in 1988? Anyway, he usually mentioned Kinnock regarding the quote, just not at the speech in question, making it more one of good ol’ Joe’s patented gaffes, not a baldfaced lie like Ryan tells. And he was cleared of the law school charges in 1989. Please do try to keep up with your history.
My wife used to run and she says that if she had done a marathon in under three hours she would have bought a fullpage ad about it and a vanity licence plate with her exact time.
On Gawkernow they have a post about how Ryan seems to be exaggerating his mountain climbing as well. But what makes me laugh from that post is this paragraph:
The “exaggerating Paul Ryan” is definitely an internet ready meme. On the Colbert Report last night, Colbert was doing the same thing. Although he wisely recommended that Ryan should just lie about things that people can’t check, like about how he only has to sleep 4 hours a night and has a hot girlfriend in Canada.
It’s that invisible hand thing… sometimes you get caressed, other times you get goosed (unlike that invisibleObama that curses like a sailor ALL the time).
I think you mean the “stupid liberal idea of 3 decades ago” thread.
People shave shots off their golf round and add inches to their fish, but it’s suicidal to do that when you are running for office. This guy’s been around the block, so I can only conclude he can’t help himself.
I liked Bill’s, “it takes brass to criticize someone else for doing what you did yourself” somewhat paraphrased. Obama removing $716B from Medicare (from expenses) while Ryan’s budget removes
$716B from benefits.
What’s notable about the particular time Ryan chose is that it’s not just a lie to make him look good, its a lie to make him look elite. Fewer than 2% of marathoners achieve such times. It is exceptional to make such a time, and evidences very meticulous physical and psychological training, as well as a nice intersection of good luck on race day.
As the article linked above notes, Ryan is claiming an honor he never earned. This is, actually, on par with Biden’s scholarship lie. Or plagiarism that routinely costs people their livelihoods. And it should come with a cost on par with that sort of behavior.
Self-aggrandizing of political achievements is sadly par for the course, and generally involves “interpretations” of statistics. “We brought forth the biggest blah in bleh years.” Well yes, if you include blee and bloo as blahs, that sort of thing. This isn’t an interpretation issue. There is no way to interpret time on a clock. It is what it is. This is just a flat out, ridiculously easily fact checked glimpse into a stunning paucity of character.
Here’s some video showing how deftly Paul Ryan lies. Watch how well he looks straight into the camera and lies. Watch how smoothly he parries the truth with dissembling. It’s really rather remarkable. What a piece of shit this guy is!
