I’ve been on Paxil for about 3 months now. I’ve noticed that I’ve been bruising a lot, but I dismissed it since I’m a pretty clumsy person. However, I got some pretty bad bruises over the weekend, and this raised a red flag for me. I googled “paxil and bruising” and a bunch of pages came up on the subject. Apparently it is a rare, but serious, side-effect. I called my doc and he scheduled me to come in later this week for some blood work. In the meantime, I want to know if anyone else has experienced this.
I just went offf Paxil after using it for a few months. It was making no difference in my disposition. Ever since ceasing the dose, I have been extremely weary-“bone tired” in my arms and legs. My arms ache, and I have pain that increases with movement. I am due to see my doctor in two weeks concerning my diabetes; I’m wondering if I should have this new situation checked out before then. If it gets worse I’ll have no choice.
I’ve noticed no signs of bruising, but it feels like I’ve been worked over with a stick. I’m interested in finding out more.
I’ve been on Paxil for a year and a half now, with no side effects at all. But that’s just me. You’re doing the right thing to consult with your doctor.
This happened to my MIL on celexa. It was some kind of autoimmune response and she had to stop taking the celexa, take a whole lot of benadryl, and I think prednisone, too. It can be serious, so definitely see your doctor.
