I got middle middle-class moving into noveau riche. I picked the things I would actually want out of those choices, and the final apartment ended up looking almost exactly like my real apartment! (Minus the dog since I don’t have one.)

Hardwood > Middle middle Yup, I have this. With the throw rugs too.
Best sellers & art pottery > Middle middle Well, I have books & collectible polystone figures
Exhibition poster > Middle middle * My walls are decorated with Playbills & Broadway windowcards. Close enough*
Barcelona chair > Nouveau rich My chairs look more like this than a sofa or recliner
High Def wall screen > Nouveau riche Yup, got one of these<
Grandfather’s Civil War sword > Old money Do LOTR replica swords count? I’d put a sword on my wall any day over those other choices.
Labrador > Middle middle This one I don’t have but it’s what I would want of the choices.

May I suggest to everyone that picked a lab just because they didn’t see their first choice, that elkhounds are wonderful companions? They’re smaller than labs and really sturdy critters, great with kids, and frankly have no down side that I can think of (from a reputable breeder and a dysplasia free bloodline, etc) unless you dislike attention when you walk them or want a kid-mauler.

I don’t know of an animal I’d rather have by my side.

I was asked to play again–mostly because most of the questions didn’t seem to have an answer that was accurate for me.

However, when I take the “Living Room Scale” test in the back of Paul Fussell’s Class, I always come up smack dab in the middle class.

None of the choices really fit me very well (I would have preferred shelves of books, for example - but they weren’t an option). Ended up choosing something from every social class.

Shows how far out of it I am. A 32" Color TV is considered “Trailer Park” now?

Nouveau riche and middle middle. I picked the Civil War sword for old money, though IRL no one in my family was in the U.S. during the Civil War.

I just wish I didn’t have to pick a dog. I didn’t know anything about most of those breeds and I would rather cover my Barcelona chair with hot coals than let a dog in my house.

I would’ve liked a “framed pictures of city life” option, although I think I picked the exhibition poster. Or maybe the original artwork.
