PBS game- what social class are you?

This thread reminded me of this:

Chintz or Shag: game to determine what social class you fit into.

I came out as not really fitting into any of them- not too surprising, as everybody always knew I didn’t have any class

Mostly middle, with a nice mix of old money and nouveau riche.

Of course, it would have helped if there had been either a “none of the above” or “cross between” choice on most of them…

I came out “smack dab in the middle of middle class.” It’s nice to know I’ve got room to grow…

And I would have rather had no dog…

I got “nouveau riche”. Ha!

I’m Old Money, dahlings.

Of course, I was picking things I’d like to have, but in many cases couldn’t afford in a million years.

I’m Old Money and I’m off to meet Biffy at the Club…

(I think it was the no TV in the living room that did it–but we don’t have a TV in the LR!).

I got middle class, but “confused” because my choices were all over the place apparently. My choices were:

Hardwood - middle middle, although I would have preferred tile it was not an option.
Best Seller Arts & Pottery - middle middle, ok so far.
Exhibition poster - middle middle, actually I have photos of Cuba, but again not an option.
Leatherette recliner - working class, more like resting class baby!
High Definition wall screen - nouveau rich, except mine is on an entertainment center not a wall.
Aquarium with tropical fish - working class, really? I doubt working class people are throwing hundreds of dollars on an aquarium.
Pit bull - trailer park, actually I was raised in a hut with a dirt floor, we aspired to trailer park living.

I got “eclectic”. Confused the game, I did.

Apparently, the fact that I have a bunch of crap leftover from previous (poor) generations makes me “Old Money” instead of “Pack Rat.”

I did pick the Pit Bull, though.

I’m old money, which is goddamned hilarious. My grandparents were dirt poor.

Middle middle class, but confusing. I’m okay wit dat.

A toy poodle is working class? The hell?

I ended up eclectic. The only thing things that I changed were the type of dog I own, giant mutt unfortunately wasn’t a choice, and what’s on my wall I actually have nothing but if I was going to put something up it would be a nice painting with two of everything but old money I guess they couldn’t pick me. I bet if they knew my "living room was my parents garage and I sleep on that same recliner they properly classify me a dirt poor. Although I’m not sure how my 3k TV fit in with that. So I guess I am eclectic.

Exactly! My (theoretical) frayed Persian rug is 'cause even Target wants $120 for a new one, dahlings!

For the room most like what I actually have, I got middle-middle. For the room most like what I want, I got Nouveux Riche (mostly because of the hi-def TV and the wet bar), but I confused the middle class guy because my choices were from all the groups.

Middle middle class–but confusing because I like a lot of things from other classes–which is fine except that it bugged me how many of those other classes were labeled “trailer park” or “working class”.

I guess I must take after my Mom more than I realized. (Dad has some Old Money relatives. Mom definitely comes from a Working Class background).

I’m nouveau riche, but middle middle if I go with the bookcase instead of the electronics.

Hardwood - middle middle
Electronics - nouveau riche
Exhibition poster - middle middle
Barcelona chair - nouveau riche
HD wall screen - nouveau riche
Wet Bar - nouveau riche
Labrador - middle middle (can I get a Border Collie instead?)

I got “Old Money.” I think the elkhound put me over the top.

I got old money, too, which my parents would find hilarious, I’m sure. I think it’s probably because I like stuff that’s old (hence the frayed rug) and I don’t like having a TV in the living room. My selection of piano and labrador retriever were middle-middle, which I think is a little closer to my true inner self!

I’m middle class, but “confused”, which undoubtedly sums up my whole existence. :stuck_out_tongue:

Here’s why…

[ul]
[li]Frayed Persian Rug > Old Money [/li][I also thought this meant “poor”.]

[li]Best Sellers and Art Pottery > Middle Middle[/li]
[li]Collage of New Family Photos > Working Class [/li][Not necessarily family, but other stuff.]

[li]Ethan Allen Convertible Sofa Bed > Middle Middle [/li][Duh. Used.]

[li]Projection Screen TV > Working Class [/li][*Ok, say I am. But I can’t afford one of these now[/I].]

[li]Aquarium with Tropical Fish > Working Class[/li][It could not be salt water. Shudder.]

[li]Labrador > Middle Middle[/li][There was no option for mutt (which is what my Zen is), so this was as good as it got.]
[/ul]
That was fun!

I got “eclectic” also, and an invite to play again.
