Peaches shook the mortal coil groove thing off

Francine Hurd Barker, aka Peaches, of Peaches & Herb fame (they did Shake Your Groove Thing and Reunited] has died. She had been in poor health for a few years.

I noticed that Herb’s now a DC cop.

I hadn’t known about her (their) 60s soul records and am curious about what they sound like. Now that shes dead, of course. Dang. :frowning:

De-united, and it feels so sad.

Sad to hear about the passing of the original Peaches. But she isn’t the woman on “Shake Your Groove Thing” or “Reunited.” There have been many, many persons named Peaches singing with Herb Fame over the years.

Yeah, he had one who looked 15 while he’s looking his age. A beat-up his age, at that. It was like she was singing sex duets with her great-grandfather. Creepy as hell.

There was a country duo from the 70s/80s called the Kendalls. They were a father/daughter team who specialized in cheatin’ songs. FTR, they were pretty good. The father died a few years ago, but the daughter, Jeanne, continues to record.

[Ed McMahon] I did not know that. [/Ed McMahon]

Kinda like Meat Loaf having a younger version of Karla DeVito these days.

They were creepy, too. That kid could sing, though.

Well, the MTV article says “he holds down a job in the Washington, D.C. police department”, which may or may not be a cop. I’d say likely not, since they’d likely specifically say he was an officer, if he was one.
