Peak oil and string theory

If we live in a 2d world and drill a well to extract water there will be a finite amount of water we can extract - and we can calculate that to the (2d) gallon.

But if there is a 3d world and we can only perceive 2d their would be a infinite supply of water for the 2d world as long as the water can flow across that third dimension.

String and M theory are closely related to parallel universe theory, which could indicate multi dimensions of earth beyond our perceived 3d. If resources such as oil span and can flow across these dimensions this would mean we have a infinite supply of oil, also we would have a earth atmosphere that will self correct for global warming.

There has been some reports of oil reserves in areas increasing such as:

Do we have infinite oil reserves and no threat of global warming?

If we had infinite oil, global warming would be more of a danger, not less.

“But if there is a 3d world”…umm, what?

We already live in a 3d world, last I checked.

And no, we do not have infinite oil reserves. For that matter, we don’t have infinite iron reserves, either.

Um. If there are parallel worlds, and things can flow from one to the other then why aren’t we dead? Why aren’t my blood vessels filled with air embolisms? Why aren’t I dying from dehydration as my internal liquids dribble out into another universe?

Wait what? The people in that article said that this oil field had a sudden large rise in production and from that they decided the world has an infinite supply of oil?

Only if matter does indeed pass between alternate universes which (1.)no one knows for sure really exist, and (2.) if they did, there is no credible evidence that matter ever passes between them.

The day that anyone can demonstrate in a scientific manner that the law of Conservation of Mass/Energy doesn’t hold is the day that we’ll have to rewrite the physics textbooks.

Another problem just occurred to me. You seem to be talking about the parallel, alternate history version of a different universe, since a transition to a separate universe created in another Big Bang would almost certainly lead to vacuum, not another planet much less matching up oil reservoirs. Well, if we are speaking of alternate universes the ones “nearest” to us would be filled with near duplicates of us doing nearly the same things we are. Including sucking up oil. So your idea still doesn’t work.

Moving matter between universes wouldn’t violation conservation of mass/energy, I think. It’s not gone; just moved.

Ummm…what?
Are you saying that hidden reserves of oil are flowing from another dimension?

Congradulations. You have managed to display a startling amount of ignorance about oil production, global warming, string theory all in the same OP.

Maybe the real reason we have oil problems isn’t that we’ve used too much oil; maybe the sentient dinosaurs of Parallel Universe 14-AR-8294-X have been sucking out our reserves!

Will 2d gas burn in a 3d engine?
Is it processed in a one story plant?
If the inhabitants of the 2d world invade our world to get their oil back, would 1 inch high walls be sufficient to repel them?

God damn son. Put down that pipe and demand a refund from whoever sold it to you. Please tell me this thread is a joke or your Golden Retriever is going to be in for a world of hurt from a Bic lighter.
