Pearls of wisdom for middle-aged folks?

My mother fell down the basement steps trying to hold onto the railing while holding onto a heavy laundry basket. She broke both legs (well, one was fractured). I fell down lugging a laundry basket down the basement stairs and luckily landed on both my arthritic knees on the concrete instead of my head. IT’S FUCKING DANGEROUS the older you get. If you want to lift weights, lift weights. If your eyesight and balance are starting to fade a bit, use your head and stop putting your life in danger in a vain attempt to keep “muscles toned”.

Go ahead and buy that red sports car. You know you want it. Mine was my favorite ever. No regrets there.

Have your girlfriend carry them in her purse. That’s what I do…TRM

It’s never too late to learn something new or try something new.

It’s never too late to stop bad habits and start taking up good ones.

Appreciate that being middle-aged may mean you don’t have to follow every silly trend that comes along, whether it be ugly boots or current slang.

That’s all I have.

Man, the not-giving-a-shit-what-people-think thing has to be the single best thing about middle age. It’s so incredibly liberating to be able to just be yourself, sans angst.
