It’s like blocking photographers’ access to all those flag-draped coffins whose existence the government never denied: Not exactly censorship . . . more in the nature of assholery.
I’m disgusted w/this administration. Have been for a very long time. Continue to be amazed at the Chinese water torture drip drip drip of yet another reason to hate them.
But damn, BG any chance you can hold off on your “gotta post this most immediate outrage right this second” trigger finger? It dilutes the overall message if folks can simply glance at the pit and see 4 threads all about how this administration sucks the big one, all by the same person. It’s the Reederesqing of data. Trust me, some of this shit would have seen the light of the pit.
I almost posted this exact same post to you, what was it, yesterday, the day before? but thought, nah, worthy topics and all. But, damn.
On a completely and utterly unrelated note, I read recently that John Ashcroft was awarded a multi-million dollar no-bid contract shortly after he skulked out of office. That wouldn’t be hush money, now would it?
I have a question; could this be compared to other reports? That it’s being released only on request to me isn’t all that big a deal to me unless it’s a marked difference from how other reports of a similar kind are dealt with.
You think the pentagon will tell us that they’re going to publish it online, and then retract at the last minute?
I wonder who decided that the study results were too politically sensitive?
What with the half assed last minute switch, it sounds like the work of “the decider” himself.
Does the admin not understand that CDs can be, ya know, copied?
They’ll send it out to someone and it’ll be all over the net in about 1.2 seconds anyway.
So, they’ll get the added benefits of appearing stupid and techno-illiterate also.
As for the subject matter, what’s the big deal? Anyone with an even moderate grasp of reality has understood that Al Qaeda and Saddam were not in any way working together for a long time.
I’d be interested in hearing what John McCain has to say about that.
His recent dustup with Obama over al Qaeda in Iraq, suggests that he may not know.
I think the Bushies are trying to prevent us all from knowing until sometime in mid november.
If the Pentagon doesn’t post it themselves, they can deny or at least obfuscate when it shows up elsewhere. And whilst the technoliterate will see this as just another obvious blocking move, unless the mainstream media reports on it, most folks won’t give a monkey’s and will continue to believe, in denial of all evidence, that Saddam helped plan 9-11.
It’s not about blocking the information, which is clearly already out there. It’s about keeping the information as dim as possible so that Joe and Sally Homemaker don’t know about it in time for the elections.
Well that leaves out 99% of this administration. I think their problem is that before it was only us terrorist sympathizers saying it, now it’s the Pentagon. Oops.
