People complaining about PV electric

Hahahah.

We have a reservoir near us. There is an automated… shit I don’t know what to call it. It’s solar power. Maybe 8 feet in diameter. It scours the lake getting rid of unwanted algae.

The town wanted to name it. An elementary students suggestion was chosen. She wanted to call it “David Bouey” There may be hope out there.

Run a free electric car recharging station off the PV installation. People will take free stuff even if it kills them.

This version of the sentiment, I believe, originates with PJ O’Rourke.

I would go further, to say that the Earth, and everything else we interact with, is, to a large degree, an electromagnetic field. Certainly, for everything other than the Earth, that’s the entire part we interact with, and for the Earth itself, it’s half of our interactions.

Where I’m from there is a lot of fossil fuel money running astroturfing campaigns against PV installations. Don’t be surprised if there are paid agitators putting fear into people’s heads.

It doesn’t help that for obvious reasons the PV installations are planned for rural and semi rural areas close to cities. Around here that is where our most conservative/religious/sovcit folk live.

Wouldn’t surprise me. But I haven’t seen any pamplhets or adds or anything from anti-solar folks. In my subdivision (I still sort of don’t believe I live in suburbia now) about 1/10 of the houses have PV solar.

Considering who got voted into the White House, I think it’s just general fear and ignorance.
