Recently I’ve started to get voicemail from various companies, but my mobile has been on all the time, never away from a strong signal, so it should have rung. Is there some way people are bypassing the “ring-ring” part of the phone call and automatically leaving a voice mail? I live in the UK (Tesco mobile)
My wife does this all the time. She’ll call the voicemail number and choose the “leave a message” option rather than the “check messages” one. That way the phone doesn’t ring as for an incoming call, though I still get the new VM beep. Anyone who knows what cell service provider you use and the number of its VM retrieval can do this.
Yup, calling you VM number for me it’s a 7 in front of the number. This goes directly to VM where you can leave a message or log in to hear messages or set your outgoing greeting etc…
This is the most popular way that the newspapers “hacked” celebs phones. They rang the number and tried the default PIN or guess and when they got in listened to the messages. A lot of people are unaware of this function as they just ring a shorter number, 171 in my case, to listen to messages on the phone that the account is attached to. Lots never set a PIN.
