You know what I’d really love to see? I wish somebody would go around and interview the make-up artists, who do celebrities before they appear on TV shows or performances. Ask them who are the celebrities who treat the working grunts beneath them with grace and dignity. What a wonderful eye-opening book that would be.

I once knew a guy who worked on a Hollywood camera crew. He said Broderick Crawford was the nicest star he ever worked with. Elizabeth Taylor was the worst, but I doubt if that would surprise anybody.

It’s hard to tell from their screen personalities. Adam West was a total jerk. On the other hand Iggy Pop was about the nicest, most polite guy you could imagine. When someone told him he couldn’t smoke at the location, he sincerely apologized, and spend some time hanging out with the crew on the loading dock.

My experience is pretty much the opposite. I’ve encountered very few rude assholes among all the postal folks I’ve interacted with.

Mine also. The clerks at all the offices I’ve been at have been nice, and when I delivered mail one summer pretty much everyone in the office was nice - probably nicer than I deserved.

I vote for lawyer, since from watching my son-in-law law school must have a class in how to be arrogant and how to really care about appearance more than substance.
I don’t know any finance people, but even if they aren’t assholes they do more damage than just about anyone.
Including terrorists.
