Perfect casting that could have happened and...

My biggest regret is that Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson didn’t do a movie remake of The Avengers when they were a couple. Steed and Mrs. Peel done right. Emma could have written the script, too.

Great one! (No offense to Elendil’s Heir, but I think Knight would have fit this better than Philip Seymour Hoffman).

Robin Williams

Playing Lech Walesa

In the Solidarity motion picture.

Great idea! I bet he would’ve done a good job. He was excellent as Theodore Roosevelt in the Night at the Museum movies.

Robin certainly had the acting chops. He’s famous for his zany comedy, but he was a great serious actor. The first dramatic role I saw of him was The World According to Garp, and he was amazing.

There was a rumor a few years back the Timothy Olyphant was in the running to play James Bond and The Lone Ranger. Here he is talking about it on Conan.

+1

Right around the 3 minute mark.

Also, this dude gave quite a bit of thought and effort to the subject of this thread…

I completely disagree. Little was an exceptional actor and made the part. Pryor was a poor actor in general and wouldn’t have been nearly as convincing.

I keep hoping Tina Fey will cast Cyndi Lauper as Lillian’s estranged sister on The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Back in 1972 they released an album of Man of la Mancha with Jim Nabors singing the lead, opera star Marilyn Horne doing Aldonza, and Jack Gilford performing Sancho Panza.

It might not have been possible for Nabors to play Miguel de Cervantes/Alonso Quijana/Don Quixote - too many people remember him and think of him as Gomer Pyle and similar characters (but he has a helluva singing voice), but Horne and Gilford are absolutely perfect for their parts, both singing and in appearance. (James Coco, who played Panza in the film, arguably sang too well – you need a Gilford for that role, I think).

Of knows, they’d have been better than Peter O’Toole and Sophia Loren.

I wish someone would do a remake of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest with Jim Parsons in the lead.
