**An Affair To Remember **with Deborah Kerr & Cary Grant
I have a lot of favorite movies, but I would say that the only one I could consider to be perfect was…
Who Framed Roger Rabbit - A technical masterpiece with brilliant acting, hilarious jokes, and a tight plot that never lets you get bored.
If there were any movie I could watch over and over again and never get bored with, it’d be that one.
And look there is no pain… no pain… no pain… no pain…
As long as you’ve seen La Grande Illusion, can you tell me why von Stroheim’s character was wearing that device under his jaw that apparently made it impossible for him to bend his spine?
There’s so many awesome movies out there, a lot have been mentioned. I’d have a great movie night if I could watch these movies again:
Sense and Sensibility
Manhattan
Hannah and Her Sisters
Almost Famous
The Godfather 1, 2
The Untouchables
Bullets over Broadway
It’s a Wonderful Life
Roman Holiday
This is Spinal Tap
Amadeus
Waking Ned Divine
Thanks for this list. I’ve seen most of them, and one, I think at least one deserves to be in this thread –Falling Down – the film with Michael Douglas in a meltdown.
In action films, the all time gold standard is still The Terminator. Relentless, thrilling, holds up to the present day.
For maybe an outlier, I’m going with Risky Business, just absolutely perfect for the genre of teen films.
Another outlier comedy, As Good As It Gets. The plot concept itself is a bit of a stretch, but once you buy it the execution of it is perfect.
I still think that Die Hard is the most perfect little gem of a movie by these standards.
