Pericarditis? But with odd symptom

Thanks for the replies.
I will bring up some ideas you have provided to my Doctor.

Update.
Bone scan revealed nothing. I have good bones.
Doctor has put me back on Prednisone. But open ended. Starting at 50 MG for a week, then usual taper off period. But only down to 10 MG after that. Objective being to either stay on it long enough to knock out the inflammation ( if that is what it is ) permanently. Or find the minimum dose to control it long term.
I seem to tolerate the Prednisone well and it does the trick. But must find a minimal dose, as it is nasty stuff. Also prescribed a pill to prevent bone problems due to Prednisone. Once a week.
Will likely see a result in a week. Then see what dose works long term. Or can stop it after some time.

Fwiw, i had chest pain, close to my heart, for awhile. Exercise didn’t make it worse. And it resolved when i got my acid reflux under control. I’m pretty certain it was esophageal.

Has anybody suggested pseudo angina?

Thank you for the update.

So no diagnosis and finding the lowest dose of prednisone that controls the symptoms of whatever the cause is?

I will say that because it was right where the heart is (or at least, where I think of the heart being) I was a little worried about it, and discussed it in some detail with my doctor. He was pretty sure it was gastrointestinal. My prior PCP pushed me to do a stress test after an esophageal spasm, just in case, and I confess I was delighted that my current PCP was comfortable writing it off as resolved after I got the acid reflux under control and it went away.

I don’t seem to have any excessive acid issues. Maybe I am just not aware. I did a regime of specific medication for that in these trials to find a source, can’t recall the specific name, but along the lines of proton pump something or other? An odd terminology. It did not seem to make a difference in any way. Early in my Crohn’s onset, it was an issue. But I changed diet and early treatment took care of that portion of it. Decades now without any excess acid issues. Maybe early damage from it is now revealing itself? I am an old geezer now. Past may be catching up with me?

Proton pump inhibitor is what you’re looking for.
