Personal visual models - do you have any?

Recently I realized that when I’m thinking over plans in my mind, I’m looking at a mental image of a giant dial with all the months/days of the year, with January at about the 8PM position on the clock face, and the year progressing clockwise. It’s also seasonally colored somewhat.

I have no idea why I do that, I don’t recall ever seeing that kind of calendar, but it’s my mental crutch. Anybody have a similar thing?

I picture time as a circle, the year as an oval, and events I’m planning or anticipating as lumpy ovoids. My vantage point shifts in relation to those shapes depending on what time or season it is now.

My year is a circle that’s slightly flattened into a squareish shape, with the solstices and equinoces at the “corners”. December is lower left, March is lower right, June is upper right, and September is upper left. I think I must have seen a poster about the seasons, way back in preschool, that was laid out that way.

I also picture the D&D alignment chart with Good on the left, Evil on the right, Chaos on top, and Law on the bottom. I think I must be the only one who lays it out that way.
