Pete Hegseth Confirmation hearing

Those are relatively softball questions, just off the top of my head I would guess the answers would be

“Yes I am the best person of Trump wouldn’t have nominated me”
“I am the best because only I have the courage to make the radical changes needed to clense the woke from the current military and return it to its full fighting strength.”
“In would have to say that I admire George Washington as our greatest military leader whose courage against overwhelming odds gave us our freedom”
“I don’t think that there is anyone who would do as good a job as I would which is why Trump nominated me.”

Or just fake some humility. “I don’t know how you’d determine who would be “best” for this job out of everyone in the country. We’ve seen other SecDefs with a variety of qualifications. But, when the president asks you to serve, you say “Yes, Sir!”, and trust that he’s done a good job in asking you to serve. All I know is, I’ll do the job the way the president wants it done, to the best of my abilities.”

I accidentally typed “Yes, Sire!” at first, which felt a little too on the nose.

What about; “Would you hire an individual who cannot get a security clearance for the Secretary of Defense position?”

Man, that would have been a great question!

Not like it matters. Even Gaetz would have been easily confirmed if everyone in Washington didn’t absolutely hate him.

It’s just more evidence of just how much Gaetz’s fellow Republicans must really, really hate his guts.
