Peter Green has passed away

Another day brings another sadness. Remarkably, the co-founder of Fleetwood Mac lived to 73.

B.B. King: “He has the sweetest tone I ever heard; he was the only one who gave me the cold sweats.”

A couple of my favorite tracks:

He couldn’t sing, he wasn’t pretty, and his legs were thin. But damn he was a hell of a bluesman.

Heard this one a little while ago. He hadn’t been the man I admired for decades, but yeah, when he was that man, he was amazing.

Slowly the giants fade away…

RIP, Mr. Green.

RIP, Peter. Great guitarist, singer and songwriter who started something really big.

A really sad part of this for me is, there are a probably a ton of Fleetwood Mac fans today that would say “Who is Peter Green?”

So sad.

When he was at the top of his game, there was no one better. Eric Clapton leaves John Mayall’s Blues Breakers, Peter Green steps in, and the group is better! It was in the Blues Breakers that he connected with Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, and Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac was born.

So thankful I got to see the Green, Fleetwood, McVie, Kirwan, and Spencer incarnation of the group live back in ‘69.

Will listen to “Black Magic Woman” and “Oh, Well” tonight.

RIP, Greenie!

Yes, RIP Greenie. I have had albums by all incarnations of FM. Peter Green era FM has a special place in my heart. So does the Nicks- Buckingham era.
Rest easy Peter Green.
