Why can’t he simply wear a cap with no logo on it? I do think it’s kind of a slap in the face to the home team. (Disclaimer: I am a Nats fan. But I’m also a Democrat).
Because he’s a White Sox fan. What sort of lunacy would require that just because we elect someone to public office that they give up their God-given right and duty to wear the emblem of their own team at a ball game?
I’m no fan of Obama, and I hate the White Sox, but I think it shows a lot of conviction to not just wear the hometown gear wherever he goes. As I recall, W wore a Nats’ jacket when he tossed out the opening pitch. I always thought less of him for it (although, on reflection, perhaps he was confused as to where he was and just thought it was a throwback jersey for his Rangers.)
