Yup, just purchased it from an online store moments ago. I bought if basically for the additional scenes. Hopefully they include more fights and less Jar-Jar.
Anyone seen the new release? Did I waste $22 of hard earned cash??

Well the first edition sucked so bad I dont know how they could improve it with fifteen minutes of extra footage, but honestly I haven’t seen it so YMMV.
Eek, I think you might be disappointed with the extra scenes. They’re neat and all, but it’s not as if they make up for Jar Jar. Some of the behind the scenes stuff was very interesting. There’s actually a lot of cool stuff on it, so IMHO it’s worth your $22, but Jar Jar Lite it ain’t.
I’ve been thinking of starting a Cafe Society thread on this DVD, but I wasn’t sure how many people would have seen it.
<licensed joyologist> Love it love it love it </joyologist> I can watch this DVD again and again. The pod race alone makes it worthwhile. On top of that the incredible color and CGI creatures. (Yousa thinka weesa peepa gonna die?) And Ray Park and the score. I love this film with no reservations.
Do you think Lucas will CGI Qui-Gonn into the group of smiling-down ghosts at the end of ROTJ?
Oh, wait, excuse me, we’re talking about the DVD SE. Well, it’s got Easter eggs, excellent use of the strengths of DVD (angle change, etc.), and exquisite 5.1 sound. Very, very worth it. Unless you are not a fan of the film.
Well, this’ll prob’ly end up in Cafe Society anyway…but anywhoo…
If you want Jar Jar Lite, I have a copy of The Phantom Edit (LA edition, IIRC) lying around somewhere. Email me if you’re interested.
